The rich history behind the Domaine d'Estérel

Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson was founded in 1864 by a group of adventurers, lovers of nature and having been seduced by the magnificent lakes of the area.

Marked by the beauty of the place, they settled there to found their family. A few decades later, in 1936, a Belgian Baron named Louis Empain took possession of 17,000 acres of land and asked the famous architect Antoine Courtens to build several buildings there under the name Domaine d'Estérel.

The years that followed brought prosperity and enchantment to Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson. Domaine d'Estérel was the site of the first shopping center in Canada, including at that time the prestigious Holt Renfrew chain. Cinema, ballroom, legendary scene where famous musician Jazz Benny Goodman has made music lovers from all over the world and even a stable have all been the notorious attractions of the Domaine.

80 years later, the Domaine d'Estérel takes shape thanks to the vision of a promoter who is determined to offer this exclusive touch to the project. Preserve the authentic and high-end flavor, preserve the nature and the cachet and find the right balance between history and modernity. This is what the developer behind Domaine d'Estérel wants to offer to new residents.
